ENC In-Depth Podcast: The Future Of Economy & Entertainment

The in-depth discussion is dedicated to “The Future Of Economy & Entertainment” which is part of a series of podcasts included in the “Beyond Erasmus: Education, Exchanges and Employment opportunities for youth in the EU and Turkey” training programme. The project is supported by Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Turkey and aims at promoting student mobility beyond the Erasmus+ framework, youth exchanges, internships, training courses, networking, access to funding for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and free market entrepreneurship and Civil Society Organisations (CSO), among other things.

Some of the key points in the discussion are: How COVID-19 affected entertainment industry in regards to both production and consumption, what are the changes of approach towards many different sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic, comparing the readiness between socio-economic and institutional conditions and students. Also mentioned are the accelaration of modern trends in response to the pandemic, building resilience for future crises and the necessity for bridging between digital world and social sciences. Finally our participants provide tips for moving from the academic stage to the career paths concerning students.

The discussion was co-moderated by Gülçin Sinav, Program Director at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Turkey and Andreas Marazis, ENC Head of Research for Eastern Europe & Central Asia. Our guests are Christina Mercuriadi, Director of EU Affairs at Motion Picture Association and Giuseppe Porcaro, Head of Outreach and Governance at Bruegel.
